This year’s second pocket weekend will be dedicated to the launch of two workshops that we have held for several years, which land toward and against all viruses: “Des corps performants”, a radio performance resulting from the sound creation workshop dedicated to the work of women, and “Des roses et du pain”, a group creation inspired by life stories by the theatre workshop.
Each day will end with a meetup between the workshop participants and one or more artists whose practice resonates with the work done at Voix De Femmes over the last years. Our guests will be :
Cathy Alvarez, artiste visuelle
Living in Liege and developing, free of labels, on the fringe of literature, living arts, graphic art, and textiles and whatever she encounters on the way. She hunts for old photography and objects that she manipulates to extract a story from. She creates a narrative where each fragment is connected in a network. For the occasion, l’An Vert will host a small exhibition of her work.

Raphaëlle Bruneau, comédienne
In “Qui est blanc dans cette histoire?" (Who is white in this story?), a monologue build from family archives and stories, Raphaëlle Bruneau asks about the lasting marks that colonial history has left on the power dynamics of today and the racism that comes from it.

Béatrice Cué, comédienne
Béatrice Cué is one of the founders of the Cie Espèces de... Dans "Les petits poi(d)s", an ongoing creation, she is a Baroquian character, wearing green peas, who tells her story, shaped by her Spanish origins, with humour and mockery. She speaks of the opposition between the traditional family and her “craving for a hot fried rabbit tartar saveloy in front of the TV”, but also the heritage from which she draws strength.
→ One of the work stages is planned on 17 November 2020 at the Palace de La Louvière as a part of the fall meetup of the action-theatre.
